Everyone Wants to Bless The Rains Down in Africa

Weezer’s cover of the 1982 Toto classic “Africa” turned into one of the surprise hits of 2018.  Now, metal-heads are getting their own “Africa” cover.

A band called Woods of Trees has released a video for their black-metal cover of “Africa”.  The band even changes the lyrics to make them more metal, like “I bless the rains in Scandinavia”.

Woods of Trees have also recorded metal covers of Celine Dion’s “My Heart Will Go On” and Mariah Carey’s “All I Want For Christmas Is You”.  No word on whether Toto is planning to cover a song from the Woods of Trees catalog, although they covered Weezer’s “Hash Pipe” recently.
