Violent Femmes Recording 10th Album

For 30-plus years, the Violent Femmes have kept going on like a blister in the sun. And now the Milwaukee trio is recording their 10th studio album.
Appearing on the Consequence of Sound podcast, bassist Brian Ritchie says the new album is “very straightforward” and primarily acoustic, calling it “a mix of our early sound and whatever else we’re into now”.
These days, original members Ritchie and Gordon Gano are joined by drummer John Sparrow. The album will be the Femmes’ first since 2016’s We Can Do Anything.
What’s your favorite Violent Femmes song? Who are some of the best trio bands ever?
